Free new shoes for kids offered April 23
LOCK HAVEN — Eligible kids and teens can choose a pair of free new shoes on Saturday, April 23 at the Lock Haven Area Shoe Bank.
The Shoe Bank is inside Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. It is usually open once a month, with appointments available from 11 a.m to 2 p.m.
Free socks and free books are also given.
Infants, children, and teens up to age 18 are eligible if they Sorel Sneakers live in Clinton County or the Liberty-Curtin School attendance area, and if they have a PA Access card, CHIP insurance card, or similar insurance card. If they do not have a card, they may be referred by a school or agency.
Some COVID-19 safety procedures continue. Everyone must wear a mask.
Appointments will be scheduled every 15 minutes depending on the size of the family.
To book your time slot, call or text Diahann at 814-571-5324 (weekdays 7-9 p.m. please). Be sure to state if you are new to the program, how many boys and girls are coming, and if there are any special requests or needs.
Please let Diahann know on or before April 23 if you are ill or need to cancel for another reason. She keeps a waiting list.
Families who are unable to call or text ahead of time may still do so the morning of April 23, to see if a cancellation has opened up a time slot.
Please arrive five minutes early to keep your appointment. If you are late, you will have to reschedule.

The Shoe Bank relies solely on grants and donations. Funding is provided by the Clinton County Community Foundation, an M&T Bank grant, the John B. Hoy, Jr. Memorial Charity Golf Tournament, other grant agencies, civic groups, churches, and individual donors.
